Location of the Issue: Mission Bay High School, Pacific Beach
Describe the Problem:
Every time it rains heavily, Mission Bay High School floods. Water pools across the walkways, near classrooms, and around the fields, sometimes making it hard for students to get to class without getting soaked. The drainage systems can’t keep up, and the campus sits low enough that water just collects and sits for hours.
It’s frustrating as a student because it affects not just our comfort, but our safety and ability to learn. If this is already happening now, imagine how much worse it’ll get as sea levels rise and storm surges become more frequent.
